Yama & Niyama : Svadhyaya

Niyamas are prior qualities to develop in the way we approch the study of Yoga. Yamas are qualities we should manifest in every situation we encounter in our life.
Svadhyaya is the 4th Niyama.
Svadhyaya is generally traduced as “self study”. Yoga is a path to enlightenment of the Self,  by developing the ability to reach higher states of samadhi. the Self is the eternal part of our consciousness, transcending from the universal soul to our personality. How to enlighten something that we don’t know? That is why svadhyaya is one of the prior study in yoga. Its wide screen makes that svadhyaya a very long study of mankind and god within.
From self enquiry to know better who we are (emotional and intellectual) and scriptures study (wheter they are philosophy or spiritulality) to proper meditation.
Understanding is a key to progress. Yoga encourage us in developing our mind more than our body. Emotional mind, intellectual mind, inspired mind (intuition) and spiritual mind.
A program for many incarnations.
